SAMMY BENNETT

Sammy Bennett is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, whose work spans painting, printmaking, textiles, and installation to create intimate and idiosyncratic worlds. Drawing from his rural Michigan, blue-collar background and experiences in Brooklyn, Bennett explores dichotomies between analog and digital, country and city, high and low culture, and inside and outside. His art often depicts everyday environments, such as bedroom interiors, windswept sidewalks, and cluttered parks, infused with a sense of melodrama. Bennett’s work references existential loneliness, while offsetting it with humor, vibrant colors, and a playful collage aesthetic.
