Andrea Joyce Heimer
Andrea Joyce Heimer is an American self-taught painter born in 1979 in Great Falls, Montana. Her densely narrative works depict scenes from memory and imagination — small-town Midwestern life rendered in flattened, folk-art-inflected style with an undercurrent of psychological tension. Often working in grid-like arrangements of panels, Heimer layers text with image to construct autobiographical fictions that blur the line between the real and the dreamed. Her paintings have been shown extensively in galleries across the United States and are held in private collections nationally.
